Deep Sea Diving

Just trying something new. Acrylics and bristol board, glitter (!!!), some strange smelling white paint pen I found, and Sharpie.

...man, I should draw this guy wrasslin' a shark.

Another video game tribute...

I haven't played Bioshock 2 yet, but I've seen a couple of videos of the gameplay and read the plot... and I am absolutely fascinated with the Little Sisters. Here's one of them, ready to harvest delicious ADAM stem cells from Splicers. Don't know if I'll color this picture later or not.

We're Blastin' Off-a To The Moon!

...well, okay, technically they're blasting off from the moon. But they could be going to a cooler, less bland looking moon in a nearby galaxy! The universe is begging to be explored and researched by these little guys.

More progress! Productivity is up something percent!

Well, I'm more or less done with inking. Now I'm on to painting!

I'm almost done with this picture... I'll probably just paint some more shading and edit a couple other things, yadda yadda.

But anyway. The ostrich in the back there? He's the main character of the story, folks. Ollie Ostrich. Albert's his next door neighbor. They're total jerks to each other. You'll see why eventually.

Oh! Also! Progress on my big, fat animated project is... progressing! Storyboards are complete and, if any of you are really desperate to see them (which I doubt, but you never know), perhaps if you click your heels three times, they may appear on this very blog someday soon.

Tidying Up + Work In Progress

I made a few small changes to the blog, like adding a new header and making things more neon blue and mysterious than usual. It's absolutely delightful!... I guess as delightful as, like, about two or three changes to a blog can actually be. Huh.

Right now I'm inking an illustration for a children's story that I wrote. I'll write more about it the next time I post, but I will say that it's about protecting the environment and the devastating effects that it has on a sentient animal world. So far this is Albert, the hipster rabbit who lives to recycle and plant trees and yell at people who are trashing the hell out of Earth. He's not the main character... that guy'll be drawn into the scene soon. I will leave you in extreme suspense!

Back to inking and drinking coffee like a madwoman!

Three Drawings

There're more pictures on my Tumblr page, but these are just a couple of things I've done lately. More to come! As always!

O Edel Neerlandt soet!

My dad wanted me to post this picture on my blog to remind myself of all of the hard work I used to do when we lived on the farm. In the old country.

I am sad that the Netherlands lost the World Cup. All of our hard labor back then... wasted for nothing!

...more art to come later. I promise.

Cave Story

Some fanart from yours truly. This is Quote, the protagonist from Cave Story, a game that I just recently fell in love with (which is really sad because it only came out, what, six years ago?). It's an insanely great video game, and if you haven't played it already, you should go and get it.

Also, my new website is MaryZolp.com. See, I told you guys it'd be boring and professional! Right now it redirects to my Tumblr page, but I should have a bonafide website on there come next week.

One month later...

...okay, so a little more than a month later. I don't have anything of significance to share at the moment art wise, but since I don't want this post to be bare, I'll post something quick that I drew a long while ago. It's simple. But it's somethin'.

Anyway, I am finally going to make my own website! How exciting, yes? It is! You should all be excited! I'm still trying to decide the domain name (spoiler: it's probably just going to be my name because I want to be boring professional). Rest assured, once I create it, I'll post the link here.

Now back to creating new, interesting things for the betterment of society as a whole!
